Inmate Text App

Inmate texting apps are a great way to stay in touch with a family member or friend who is currently behind bars. These apps are designed to meet prison regulations and allow family members as well as friends to send and receive messages images, photos, eCards video calls, and money to their trust account in prison. In addition to these messaging apps, there are many federal inmate apps that offer additional services, such as video visits and phone calls.

JPay is one example. It allows family and friends to transfer money directly to an inmate's trust account. It also allows videos, emails, photos and eCards. They can also create personalized postcards with their own images. It's a safer, more secure alternative to regular mail.

Another popular messaging app for inmates is GettingOut. It offers "simple, safe communication" between inmates with their loved ones. The app is available at selected correctional facilities that allow inmates to upload pictures and message friends and family via their tablets. It costs inmates $0.25 a message and loved ones pay for the data that they use to view their messages (but not for explicit pictures). The GettingOut app can be used to upload a photo to Facebook or Foursquare, check-in to Foursquare and even add a YouTube video.
